Last Order date for Christmas

Wednesday the 17th December is intended to be our last day to receive orders and despatch them before Christmas. This is dependant on the volume of orders that we receive between now and then, but I will keep you updated. Please can I ask that you place your orders as early as possible to help us with the flow through our system. We are doing all we can to get as many orders picked and shipped over the Christmas period. Today and all of next week we shall be bringing office staff in to help push orders through the system.

This seems to be totally at odds with the previous post saying that you were picking orders placed 2 days ago.
How are we expected to give a service to our customers by saying to them 1 week before Christmas (our busiest time) that this is the last day for orders.
I would far rather you put all the non essential things on hold and concentrate on the essentials. I have had in the last few days a box of select magazines, Easter books from BRF, Alpha newspapers all of which I could live without for a few days.

" I have had in the last few days a box of select magazines, Easter books from BRF, Alpha newspapers all of which I could live without for a few days."

And how are STL pickers meant to distingish between what is deemed non essential to one person with the same thing being essential to another?

Surely the only way forward is to blitz the backlog with everything you have (this seems to be the case with office staff coming in to help out), whilst systems are managed for a solution going forward...

Isn't it strange that Wesley Owen.com, in an email to their customers, stated: 'The final day to order online from WesleyOwen.com for Christmas delivery is 4pm, Friday 12th December.' Not Wednesday 17th as we have been told by STLD. Which is more realistic?

Last order for Christmas? I am still waiting for an order with Christmas books that I made on November 17!

I have heard that STL are working extended days, nights and weekends to clear this back log. I have a friend who works in the warehouse and she said its all hands on deck. I think we should all pray for those that are sacrificing time with their families to get our orders out this Christmas. It's very frustrating that they did these changes just before Christmas as I was more than happy with the service before the new system.

After receiving such frustrating service from STL for more than a month, I was looking forward to things improving, based on the optimistic updates we've been receiving, so I was shocked to see that Wednesday 17th December is the last day that deliveries can be guaranteed for Christmas. We usually place orders right up to 22nd December to arrive on 23rd. That's nearly a week later than the current deadline. After losing so many sales and customers since STL's 'upgrade', it is very frustrating to be told that we will no longer be able to get Christmas orders for our customers after Wednesday.

As a company we decided to stop processing orders for WesleyOwen.com on the 12th Dec, allowing us to focus all our energy and resource on trade orders.

Would the person who is still waiting for an order from NOV 17th please contact jonathan.jeavons (at) stl.org and I will try and find out where the order is…..

I will be posting information as to why STL has implemented SAP and why now later today.
