Kingsway | Stock update | FREE Carriage reminder

Dear Friends,

STL Distribution is pleased to confirm that Kingsway’s products will continue to be available to order through their Carlisle distribution centre. The continuation of the wholesale agreement with Kingsway ensures that STL Distribution remains the one-stop-shop for UK Christian retailers.

Following Kingsway’s announcement that it will return trade distribution to its premises in Eastbourne, work is underway to move stock from Carlisle to Eastbourne. However before, during and after this transition period, STL Distribution will continue to make Kingsway stock available to the Christian retail trade, including popular authors and artists such as; Don Piper, Stormie Omartian, Matt Redman and Stuart Townend.

Ken Munro, CEO STL Distribution, said, ‘Stocking product from a wide range of the major Christian publishers such as Hodder, Tyndale, Zondervan and Kingsway and more, means we can effectively resource the Christian market. Our focus is to continue as a one-stop-shop for the retailer, supplying products from a multitude of suppliers, knowing the convenience one order, one invoice, one delivery affords bookshops and ministries.’

STL Distribution offers same day despatch when an order is placed before 2.30 pm by telephone, fax or e-mail or by 4.00 pm electronically.

Don't forget - for the month of January STL Distribution is offering FREE CARRIAGE. Hurry, offer ends at the weekend!

Kind Regards
STL Distribution

Thank you for what you're doing to get stock back in. Please forgive me for pointing this out, however, but STL has never been a one-stop-shop for retailers who want to stock a broad range of Christian and related products, especially when it comes to academic titles... and I'm not sure that if you're honest about this, you want to be, do you?

Consider, please, just a few of the many things you don't stock:
Most books from Ashgate, Brill, De Gruyter, Metanoia, Mohr-Siebeck, Wipf & Stock... do you stock any, in fact?
Lots of titles from the USA publishers represented by Alban Books (Abingdon Press, Eerdmans, Hendrickson etc)
Bookchairs and other accessories
Greetings cards from Leonard Smith ... and many other Christian card suppliers
Traidcraft and other fair trade goods

In the past year, even granted that it was an unusual year, only just over 25% of my stock came from STL. There's much more to running a Christian bookshop than stocking the limited range that STL provides.

You do a great job most of the time and I'm not belittling that, but can we have a bit more integrity and less of the spin in your marketing spiel under your new ownership, please?

Thanks for your comments Phil.

We use the phrase ‘one-stop-shop’ as we feel that, for many Christian retailers, we are a key source of supply representing many publishers with the convenience of one order, one invoice and one delivery.

However, we appreciate that it's not always the case as the past year has proven - our ability to supply has clearly been a problem.

We are however committed to improving our service to all Christian retailers, including those at the more academic end of the market. I will arrange for someone to contact you (offline) with regard to the suppliers you mention and we’ll see if we can improve our supply to you.

Kind Regards
